Just like a kid at Christmas

Stu is graduating from nursing school in about 43 days (but who is counting :-) ) For his graduation gift Stu wanted a flat screen TV and he actually has been saving for about a year for this purchase. He found a great deal on a 46" and blue ray player so he finally ordered his TV. It came yesterday. Stu was like a kid at Christmas watching outside the window for the truck that had his TV.
Stu with his new TV right after it was delivered
Blue was interested in this new item in the kitchen

As you can see both boys are excited for this new purchase

Since we don't have a stand for the TV yet, we had to make due with our old one. There was no way the new TV would fit where the old TV was so we put it on top of the entertainment center.

And the new TV with it's clear, crisp picture. Blue was excited!

NCAA-March Madness

I don't even know what NCAA stands for and I find myself watching the score board every hour to see who has won. What is wrong with me?

Stu's dad decided yesterday at the last minute (before the 1st basketball game) to hold a "Reeder Bracket". No one had to put any money in the pool, but the winner gets $20 compliment of my father in law. I was total game, pick a team and narrow it down till you get a winner. How hard can that be? Well Stu and I up'd the anty and for this first round the one with the most wins has to give the other one a foot massage. I hope I win!

PS I have Michigan State to win it all. They better do it! I could use the $20

AAAI Conference

One of my New Year's resolution was to start teaching aerobics this year. I have been certified to do this for years and just have not done it. So this year I put it on the resolution list.

To help with training hours and teaching tips I went to Colorado Springs to an AAAI conference. It was really helpful and really overwhelming. I went out to the conference with Liz and some fellow instructors she teaches with -Tish and Andrea. From the moment we arrived at
the airport at 6 AM Friday morning till we got home 8 PM Sunday night we laughed, ate and had a great time.

It was so much fun to hang out with these ladies and learn their stories on teaching and learning a little bit more about them.
I am hoping to start teaching by May. Wish me luck. It is a scary thing, but why kept putting it off? Lets get paid to work out!

Jazz vs. Nuggets

On Friday the 6th the Utah Jazz played the #1 team the Denver Nuggets. I got an invitation to the game from Liz who got an invitation to the game from her sister Rae. Rae's husband works for Hess Travel in Bountiful and recently Hess Travel bought Morris Murdock Travel, so with the merge, Hess Travel got their season tickets to the Jazz Game. I personally don't really follow basketball, but when you get an invitation to a game and you are told you are sitting 7th row from the court...you go. And boy am I glad I did. Watching the game straight on was soooo much better then watching it in the nose bleed section and on the jumbo trom.

Speaking of the jumbo trom. Liz and I got on it! We had some awesome dance moves and we finally made it on the screen. Stu, my mom and brother (who were in the nose bleed section) saw us. For one brief moment I felt like a celebrity.

Doggie Day Care

Don't laugh...but we have put Blue in Doggie Day Care.

Currently with school and work, Blue is by himself all day 2 days a week. Starting this week that bumps up to 3 days a week. So whats the big deal you might ask? When Stu and I get home after Blue has been by his self all day, he is usually so hyper and honestly, Stu and I would rather just relax then to play with the dog. I started to feel really bad about this so we started looking into daycare.

We found a place close to our house that was $15.00 a day for day care. Blue however had to go 'try out' to see if he would fit in with the other dogs. This day care has dogs ranging from 10 lbs to 180 lbs and they all have to get along. So we took Blue today since Stu and I both had the day off and he passed the 15 min test. YEAH. The next step was to have Blue stay for 6 hours and see if he would do okay.

Later that day I picked up Blue and they said he did just great and was in! I was so proud, my dog was accepted to the cool kids club! YEAH. I really think this will help Blue with his fear aggression and help him get more social. The great thing about this place....it has a doggie cam so I can watch him all day and see how he is doing. Is this what it is like to be a parent?

Valentine's Day

Sarah & Stu at Macaroni Grill

Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday. I know most people think it is the "stupidest" holiday, but I love what Valentine's represents. Love. One day out of the year there is more love then there was the day before or the day after Valentine's Day.

With that being said, this Valentine's Day was really hard because Stu and I decided we were not going to give gifts this year to help save on money. This thought KILLED me. But we (I mean "I") held true to it. We just gave each other cards.

My mother in law was born on Valentine's Day and to help celebrate her birthday this year, Dad Reeder planned a surprise party for Valentine's night. Surprise=just casually show up at 9:30 for dinner and say you just 'happen' to be there for dinner. It worked out great-Mom was surprised to have the whole family at Macaroni Grill to celebrate her birthday. It was so much fun to be with the whole family to celebrate a special holiday and a special birthday.
