Merry Christmas

We hope that everyone had a splendid holiday with their family. We were excited because we got a white Christmas this year. Stu was trying to remember the last time there was snow on the ground for Christmas, and he could not remember.

Since this was our first Christmas, we did our own thing before we headed out to the parents house. We decided Christmas was a good time to introduce Blue to the family so he came with us. Surprisingly he did really well with the family. My parents dog Ali didn't like him too much but that was because she is not use to other dogs.

Blue of course got presents and loved a squeaker chicken we got him, along with all the treats.

Stu got his grill (picture taken right after he opened it) and I got my indgo board so I think we had a great Christmas

New job!!!!

I have found a new job!!

As many of you know I was working for Fidelity Investments. To work at Fidelity you needed to gain your Series 7 licence which is a standard licence in the industry to complete stock trades. While in training and not doing well with the practice test I decide to forgo taking the test and try other alternatives. For the last month and a half I have been working for Fidelity's temp agency taking the same calls and adding seminar reservations to my list of things to do. It has been an okay job where I took a pay cut and benefit cut. I have been looking for a new job and found out today I got the one I wanted.

With 50 applicants, narrowing down to 6 and then 3 I came out on top. I feel like I won the lottery. I am working for the director of Medicine and Specialty clinics at the University of Utah hospital. I am going to be his Administrative Assistant, well his and his 7 managers. I finally get to work in the hospital but don't have to worry about blood and needles. YEAH! I start January 7th and could not be happier.

However we learned the hard way that you can't leave a puppy alone in the house for a long period of time. Since we got Blue he has been with either Stu or myself or alone for only about 2 hours between Stu going to work and me coming home from work. One day Stu picked up a double and Blue was alone for 6 hours. Just like a kid, you leave them alone for too long and they get into trouble. Blue..was no exception. I came home to the carpet ripped up. He knew he was in trouble as soon as I got home because he would not even come into the living room. Blue is now not allowed to be alone in the house. Much to my sadness he is crated each night and every time Stu and I are away. I tell you what..this dog is preparing us for parenthood...when we do have a kids in a few years :)

New addition to our family

So Stu finally got his dog. We are now the proud owners of an Australian Sheepdog named Blue. Blue is 2 years old and came to us by an ad in the paper. The previous owners who had Blue moved out of state, and Blue didn't do well with the move. Blue is perfect in every way except he has fear aggression. Blue does not do well with strangers. The trainer told us it has something to do with his gene makeup. Because of this fear aggression the previous owners who had kids, had neighbor kids that would come running in and out of the house. This was really hard on Blue so they decided to give him up.

He is a fun loving dog, who loves to be outside. He is good with camping, running, hiking, you name it, which is what Stu loves about him. He is very playful and loves to play fetch. With Blue being an older dog, we don't have to worry about training, he has been trained, we just have to keep up with it. He is so sweet and a great addition to our family. (He also LOVES the snow)
