10 K = 6 miles

Pioneer Day-
6AM- Coleman, Liz and I got together to run a 10K. The Desert News 10K that runs along the parade route. Liz and I have done this race before, but Coleman has not, AND it was the first race that Cole and I have done together since he got into running.
It was a nice day, warm even at 7AM and all downhill!
Cole was a maniac and finished in 44 minutes
I finished in 54 min (as was SOO excited for that time)
and Liz came in about 30 seconds after me.
Overall it was a great race and nice company. We are all looking to do a 1/2 come August. We see how quick Coleman is on his feet then. This maniac just might qualify for Boston at the rate he runs!

He got his call...

Trevor, Stu's brother got his mission call today.
Before I tell you where he is going I must first tell you that before he got his call everyone in the family put in their thoughts on where Trevor would be going. We got to choose one place domestic and one place foreign.
I chose Pennsylvania and China
Stu chose Mexico and California
Trevor picked New York, New York and Barcelona Spain...

Guess where he is going....Barcelona Spain. How amazing is that? How did he know? If he can see things in the future I will start using Trevor for my lottery picks instead of the Magic 8 ball.

Trevor is a HUGE fan of soccer, Spain just won the World Cup, and Trevor's favorite soccer team is Team Madrid. What more could this kid ask for? His sister Karly pointed out that with his love of soccer that could aid him in talking to people while on his mission. Find a common ground to get a conversation started. I think she has a very good point!
We are so excited for Trevor and his decision to go on a mission. He leaves November 10th. The family is excited, because we all want to go with Mom and Dad R. to pick him up in 2 years. So we are saving our $$ now.

Good things come to those that wait

The old wives tail of "Good things come to those that wait" is true. I have been waiting for a 1 1/2 years to get an entertainment center for the TV Stu got and I have finally found one. Stu was kind enough to let me re-do our living room, and I am LOVING the new look. With the help of IKEA, we got some new additions for quite a great price.

Take a look at the before and after:

Before: I hated the 2 TV look, it looked so ghetto

Before: This spot is above our couch. I wanted to add shelves so I could put up pictures and other nic knacks

After: I am loving all the shelves. Now I have places to put all my pictures, and we even added a plant (or two)

After: Note only 1 TV and look at all the shelves, more places to put stuff

After: This was a totally new addition. We wanted to get rid of all the many DVD shelves we had so we got this book shelf. Man, I didn't realize just how many DVD's we had until I had to put them all in one spot.

Thanks to Stu for putting it all together and for finally letting me make my perfect living room.
