Kick off-Utah Season

The Utes started their season against Colorado. Wow what a game. They smoothed them: 41-0 What a way to kick off the season. Hannah stayed home for this game and Stu and I took a 'date night'. It was nice to get away for awhile.
Can you see those rain clouds in the distance. It did rain, but not for long.
Stu tried to capture the BEAUTIFUL sunset in between the flags. Of course in person was so much better. It was a beautiful sunset!

Final score, and yes we stayed till the end. Stu said "We are not some fair weathered Ute fans"

A new makeover

We have lived in our current establishment for 5 1/2 years now. Last September right after Hannah was born, the mirror in our master bathroom came shattering down. Stu of course was out of town, so I had a newborn and a glass infected bathroom. Good times!
Since then I have wanted to change our bathroom color scheme. I wanted to go with a more neutral tone. We went with browns and creams with a touch of sage green. This was also to help with the selling of the house (hopefully). People are are sometimes turned off by the bold colors. So Stu (our master painter) just finished our bathroom. Only took a few weeks (cuz he had to work on it in between his work schedule).
Before: View from the door

Before: From the door
After: From the door, what do you think of that mirror-looks like a picture

After: From the door. Just need some art to hang above the towel rack.

After: This is on the opposite of the mirror. We wanted to create some more storage. It has made a huge difference.

She had a camp site

Stu, Hannah and I went to Stu's family reunion at Swan Valley this past weekend. We had a great time- long car ride (with a baby that WILL NOT sleep in the car).
One of the days we decided to take a walk to the surround camp sites and we found out they were named after biblical women. We found "Hannah" right away and "Rebekah". As many of you know Hannah's full name is Hannah Rebecca. So we got her picture taken with both. We didn't f
ind Sarah right away, I found it the next day but forgot to get my picture taken with it.

Hannah with the "Rebekah" although her middle name is not spelled that way, we still got her picture taken with it.

1st race back

So my first race since getting pregnant with Hannah happened today. Cole and I decided to do the Park City Half Marathon. Neither of us had done this one before so it was going to be a first for us both. The only thing I was not excited about was that this race was an out and back. Those courses can play tricks on your head. Especially when those that are so far ahead of you are coming back and you can see all those people that are so much better than you and will get a better time then you EVER will. Mind games I tell you.
Park City at 5:30AM=cold, even in August. Luckily I was smart enough to bring a long sleeve shirt I ended up taking off and some gloves that had a dual purpose (hand warmer and snot rag).
One of the craziest thing I saw was as Cole and I were waiting to start the race
(T minus 2 min) a lady in front of me was reaching behind her and pulling her short away from her leg and I was thinking "what is she doing". All of the sudden...she PEED! PEED!!! Right there with 300 people waiting to start a race. I was in SHOCK! Shocked because-A: She did this discreetly and B: She didn't get a drop on her. I can be careful squatting and still get pee on my leg. She must have been a pro! The nasty part was that you have 300 runners now stepping in her pee as the race began. GROSS.
Over all the race was good. Harder than I wanted it to be and the thought of running another 13.1 in a few months to = 26.2 for the marathon made me want to cry and puke at the same time. I sure hope I am ready for this marathon.
My final time was 2:08 (pretty happy about this)
Coleman's final time was 1:41 (he was 4th in his age division, missing 3rd place by 1 min)

Me and Cole at the start line

Cole finished so far ahead of me he was kind enough to come on the course and take my picture. He told me the finish line was close, I wish I knew that meant it was around the corner. I could have sprinted to end and shaved about 10 seconds off my time. When you race, seconds count!

1 year check up

Hannah had her 1 year check up. She is getting so big and I am amazed at everything she learns and does each day. She is practically perfect in every way (and the doctor agrees). For my picture of they day I took her picture on the scale. She sat like a proper lady for her picture.

1st Birthday

I can't believe my baby girl is 1 years old. Boy did this year just fly, she isn't a baby any more-she is a toddler. (She will always be my baby however). Her birthday fell on a sunny Saturday and we had a great turn out. We had a Ladybug themed party.

Keeping with the ladybug theme, all the tables were decorated with red table covers and black spots

I call this the Hannah table. We had candy, her birth book, thank you flowers and her monthly pictures to show her progression to this day.

Hannah's bib was a ladybug with her name on it and a #1

Engagement Anniversary

Every year on our Engagement Anniversary, Stu and I go back to the spot that started it all. It is in the mountains just above the B in Bountiful. We get Cutler sandwiches just like we did that night back on August 4th, 2006, and go around sunset. This year little miss Hannah was able to come with us. The spot Stu proposed in down a steep section of the mountain. So I held onto Hannah tight while Stu made sure there were no snakes out sunbathing.

Smiles

We headed down to visit great grandma and grandpa for a few days in sunny St. George. Hannah had a great time. She is getting so big, almost a year old.
