1st time for everything

We had the opportunity to go back to Virgina for a few days and visit my family back there.  It was so fun to see Mimi, Papa and Aunt Lana again.  This is Hannah's 2nd time flying, and the 1st time she was only 2 months old.  Now she is 13 months, we knew that it would not be as easy. She did pretty good on the flight out there, but the flight back was rough.  We had weather problems that delayed the flights and mechanical issues that caused us to almost miss our connecting flight and then sitting on an airplane for over an hour before we took off (the flight was 3 1/2 hours so we were on the airplane for almost 5 hours).  It was rough, but we made it!
While we were in Virgina Hannah had 2 first.  She went on her first boat ride and also got to meet and pet a horse for the first time. 

The boat ride.  She was not a fan of the life vest..AT ALL.  She was not a fan of the rushing wind either, but when we came back from our destination she seems to do better.

I know that it doesn't do much good to have the life vest un-zipped, but we did what we had to to avoid a screaming baby at the time.

The horse, we visited a horse farm based on this You Tube video about the Griffin Sport Horses.  It was just a short 30 min away from the Lake House so we went to check out these beautiful Gypsy Horses.


Hannah got to pet this horse and it also took her (and dad & mom) on a ride when he pulled us in a carriage.

13 months old

So I decided that since I only have one child right now...and I CAN...I would keep taking monthly pictures of Hannah.  It was so fun to go back after the 1st year and see how she has changed so I wanted to keep doing it.

So here is Hannah at 13 months and here are a few things we learned about her from her 1st birthday:

*Mastered going up the stairs
*Sign's "Milk" and is getting better at "More"
*Caught her trying to stand unassisted
*Helps mom get dressed by putting her arms through the arm holes
*Learned to blow kisses (but doesn't always 'release' the kiss)
*Had her first taste of sugar at her birthday and is a big fan of it now
*Towards the end of the month is getting better at standing unassisted and holding objects while standing
*Became terrified of going down the stairs on her stomach.  I think it stemed from one day when she got going to fast and went down faster then she thought and it scared her
*Says "okay" and "hhhhhhooooootttt" (HOT).  its said all drawn out
*Took her first steps on the 9th of September, just shy of her 13th month birthday

Where did the last year go?  

1st Hair Cut

Hannah's is notorious for pulling out her bows, clips or rubber bands from her hair. Her bangs have gotten so long, that I always pull them back to keep them out of her eyes, and she will just pull out whatever is holding them. I was done playing this game, so Hannah's Aunt Karly cut her bangs today. I guess you can say it was her "1st hair cut".
