My little peanuts

Just to give an update on the pregnancy. On Sunday the 24th I start to bleed and got a little nervous about the situation. My mother in law who is an OBGYN nurse got a Doppler to see if could find the babies heart beat. Were we not able to on Sunday.
Monday when the bleeding started again I got an ultrasound to find the heartbeat and found out there was not one to be found. I did find out that I was expecting twins (Holy Cow!!) and that they passed away about 3 weeks ago. They were only measuring 8 & 9 weeks when I was almost 13. It was a sad day for us to find this out and it was sad for our families too.
On Wednesday I had my DNC to remove the babies and was lucky enough to have pictures of my little peanuts (see below)
Althought this is really hard for Stu and I we have had so much support from family, friends and co-workers that a simple THANKS doesn't seem to touch it. The love and support we have been given has meant so much to us. This is a sad thing and we were sad by it. Sad to think we had twins and both were lost to us, but we would like to think that they needed to be together no matter what.
Miscarriage is quite common as I have been told, and I don't wish it upon anyone that has not experienced it first hand. If I had to have my time to go through it I am glad it was now when the mother/child bond was not strong. I can't imagine loosing a child once you made that connection through a heartbeat, or movement. My thoughts go out to those who have experienced that and then lost their child.
Thank you again to everyone for everything. Don't worry if you don't know what to say. Its just one of those things and I know you feel for us and we thank you for that.

So meet my little peanuts (that is what I am calling them). They were too young to see the sex but Stu and I believe we had one of each.

3 Years Already?

Stu and I celebrated our 3rd Wedding Anniversary on January 3rd. Since this day is a Sunday we decided to celebrate Saturday into Sunday. This year it was my year to plan our anniversary-so I got us a reservation to stay at the Hotel Monocco in downtown Salt Lake. We had both always wanted to stay there but never had. We also had dinner reservations that night at Bambara- the restaurant in the bottom of the Monocco.
The hotel was really nice. We arrived in time for the wine hour (5-6PM) but thankfully they had some hot apple cider for us non drinkers. They had roasted almonds and appetizers from Bambara for you to enjoy, it was quite a nice little mingle the hotel does every day for its guests.

Stu and Sarah at Bambara. Dinner was great. When I made the reservation I told them we were celebrating our 3rd Wedding Anniversary, so we they sat us they gave us our own menu and at the top is read "Happy 3rd Anniversary Stuart and Sarah". The nice thing is that we got to keep it (scrapbook moment). Before we knew it, we had spend 2 1/2 hours at dinner just enjoying each others company at the wonderful atmosphere.

I am very big on keep with tradition and giving anniversary gifts based on the "Traditional Wedding Anniversary Gifts" for each wedding anniversary. Our 3rd year was Leather. Stu got me a passport holder and I got Stu a luggage tag.

Thank you Stuart for the last 3 years. Thank you for all you do for our family. Thank you for loving me despite my faults and thank you for my beautiful life, now that you are in it.

New Year's Eve

What a delightful New Year's Day. Stu's family decided to all get together for a family dinner at Macaroni Grill on New Year's Day. As Mom Reeder was taking individual pictures of the family, she then asked the waiter to take a picture of the whole family. As the waiter pushed the button to take the picture he yells out "Melissa is pregnant" (See the picture below)

Needless to say there was some excitement. Melissa (pictured 2nd on the left) is expecting just one week to the day behind me. So the cousins will be close.

Complete a marathon-DONE

Get Stu through nursing school-DONE

Get caught up on scrapbooks-Not done so it will be my only 2010 goal. I need to get caught up so I can be ready to take a ton of pictures of this new little one.
