High School Musical

For Karly my sister in law's birthday in April, Stu and I got her a ticket to Capital Theatre to see High School Musical. Karly loves the HSM phenomenon. The play was just like the orginal movie and quite fun. There were a lot of funny parts and you found yourself getting lost in the music. Even my mom liked it.

Wii....

If you have never heard of the Nintendo Wii then let me tell you a little about it. The Wii is a video console created by Nintendo. The distinguished features about the Wii is the wireless controller which can detect movement as you play your video games. You actually work up a sweat while you play tennis because you have to swing the control just like you would a tennis racket.


Stu bought a Wii recently and we have enjoyed playing it so much that we didn't want to leave it at home when we traveled to Idaho...so we brought it along.

Picture this-4 grown adults playing video games while Drew (The 2 1/2 year old) cheers us on.

Twin Falls Temple

Stu, Blue and I had the opportunity to visit some dear friends for ours (Vaughn and Alison Hixson) in Jerome Idaho over the 24th of July holiday. While we were in Idaho we got to visit the Twin Falls Temple open house. This temple was much smaller than the temples I am use to seeing, but the fine details inside the temple was not lacking. Idaho's state flower the Syringa was everywhere inside the temple. The carpet, the wallpaper, the stain glass window, even in the metal railing.

The outside of the temple was just as beautiful. Because you are not allowed to take pictures of the interior of the temple, we loaded up on pictures outside.

Movie Review

Hellboy II

The golden army

For my dad's birthday Stu and I decided to take him and my mom out to dinner and a movie. The original plan was to go see "Get Smart" which I was super excited about. Our 'birthday date' was postponed by a week and because of that a new movie called "Hellboy II The golden army" came out. I saw previews for this movie and thought how stupid it looked. A big red man with corks on his forehead, where is the appeal? It just so happens my dad was interested in seeing this movie.. Of course. Since it was his birthday we went and saw it. Hellboy II was in fact a sequel and none of us saw the 1st one (so why are we seeing this movie again?) so I had to get an update on the original plot from my boss. Red man is the son of the devil (corks are his horns that he shaves down), and he is part of a paranormal task group that fight evil people. I would like to stress again that I had zero desire to see this movie.

Last night dad, mom, Stu and I saw Hellboy II. I hate to admit it, but I really enjoyed it. I was looking forward to the hour and half nap, but I was so caught up in the story line, the humor and the AMAZING costumes and special effects that I don't think I even blinked. Believe it or not I want to rent the 1st Hellboy to see what I missed. I guess it goes to show you not to judge a book by its cover. The red devil man, funny. Hellboy II The golden army, worth seeing!

Aloha

So we are back from 10 days in Hawaii. What a trip. We were Hawaii virgins and I must say, I would go back for more :)

Stu and I started in Oahu for 3 days and traveled to Kauai for a week. Oahu was....not my favorite. It was the Las Vegas of Hawaii, very touristy and included were the unexpected call girls at the hotel entrance once night set in. We did get to see the Hawaii temple, Pearl Harbor and the Dole Plantation. And we survived sky diving! Sky diving was probably the scariest thing I have ever done, but one of the most exhilarating things I have ever done. I think Stu would agree.

Kauai was beautiful. We spent time on the beach, snorkeling, hiking, kayaking, playing in waterfalls, shopping, sailing, eating, enjoying Reeder laughter, chasing chickens and dying of heat. I am proud to say I am still as white as I was when I left. Stu got a funny tan on his back where the sunscreen did not apply properly, but since it was on his back no one will really see it (unless you ask him ;) )
