I haven't run since the marathon, but I had a 1/2 marathon already scheduled for today (probably should have run). I was doing this half with my brother Cole, and then last minute my friend Erin and Cole's friend John signed up so we had company. The race was a lot of fun. We didn't dress up (we were totally in the minority). There was so great costumes, but the thought of running 13.1 in a costume just didn't appeal to me. But I love to people watch and I could get away with it since people in costume wanted you to check them out.
The race didn't start till 9AM and you started up Emigration Canyon. We ran down and ended up in Memory Grove right below the Capital Building. I was shooting for 2 hours, but a cupcake I ate at mile 6 haunted me at mile 12 and I had to stop to use the "Scary Potty" and finished in 2 hour 5 min. I will take it! Its 2 min off my Park City Half from a few months ago. Plus Stu, Hannah and Blue were at the end waiting for me (along with Erin and Cole). Over all, super fun race and one I would do again.

Marathon Time! All the training came down to one race..Saturday October 6th. Coleman, Stu and I ran the St. George. This would be my 4th time and the 2nd for Stu and Cole.

We all got 'bandaged' up before the race with this KT tape. I was having some IT problems so I was hoping it would help make it feel better. Not sure if it really did, but the tape on my foot did help my Planters Fasciitis.
5AM Saturday morning.. Starting line for the St. George Marathon. The starting line is pretty cool, with music playing and about 8,000 of your closest running buddies. What more could you want?
Here we are waiting for the start. There was a crazy wind blowing so it made it cold. They had fires going and we huddled up to one, but it was sooo smokey with wind that we had to keep our distance. We actually started 10 min after the start of the marathon, BUT your race doesn't start till you cross the starting line.
Stu took this on the race. The sun is just starting to come up.

Just passed the Royall family (who took our pictures). I was looking for my little girl, but I found out later she was past the finish line in the shade, it was just too hot for her.

So the final time for everyone was: Coleman 4 h 29 min. Stu 4 h 30 min. Sarah 4 h 32 min. I was shooting for a goal of 4 h 30 min but my legs just gave out at the end. If I would have known Stu and Cole were only minutes ahead of me, I would have tried to dig deep and find some gas. So proud of these boys. We all beat our previous marathon record so we have nothing to complain about.
And finally the group of runners. Everyone (with the exception of Coleman) did the St. George Runner's Series to get into the marathon. Which means we had to run 2 St. George races to quality for the marathon. All the Royall's plus Stu and I did that and here we are at the end of the road!
