Prom

Every girl dreams of her prom. Tonight was my little sister Leah's prom. Even though Leah is a Junior her 'boyfriend' (I think he is her boyfriend :)) is a Senior and he asked Leah to his senior prom. The location was the Capital building in Salt Lake.

Leah has been excited for prom for a month. She found a dress-lime green, and he found a tux-white. There is going to be a limo, dinner and dancing. She was more excited for prom then Wicked.

Leah asked me if I would come out to see her off before her date came to pick her up. So I dragged Stu with me. Leah had her friend Andy over to get ready for prom with her. Andy's date was Tyler's best friend.

When we showed up I went into big sister mode and made sure she had: lipstick, lip liner and gum with her. (Stu and Cannon my brother just sat there looking like we were all nuts).
As 5:30 (pick up time) passed the girls got really anxious for the boys to show up. Originally they were going to have a limo but then they were not able to get it due to the price, so the girls were going to be picked up in a Durango. Keep in mind these girls are both wearing hoop shirts which make them every "puffy". I thought "How are they going to get in and out of a Durango?" As 5:45 approached we looked at the window to see a black limo pull up in front of my parents drive way and two very sharp looking men in white tuxes got out. The girls started to squeal from excitement.

After the bootiners were pined and the corsages put on, more pictures were taken and then the girls were led out to the limo by their dates. My sister was so excited and it was so exciting for me to see her so happy...FINALLY.

13.1 = Half

Today my fellow running buddy Liz and I took on the Salt Lake 1/2 Marathon (13.1 miles). This is one race we had not done yet. I was a little nervous about the weather since it has been snowing all week, but the weekend cleared and race day was perfect weather.

Liz and I stayed close together the whole race but by mile 10 I was spent and I just wanted to be done. My feet hurt really bad. I left Liz and ran on ahead so I could be done. I also knew that Stu was waiting for us close to the end and I wanted to see him. Stu was our only support for this race. If you ever have a chance to support a runner; do so. As a runner myself- knowing that you have a support group at the end of the race is what helps you finish a race. You race to the end to see all those yelling your name.

Liz and I both did great on our race. I came in at 2 hours 7 min and Liz came in at 2 hours 9 min. Starting this month we have a race every month till October. Hopefully we can get those great bodies we have been talking about with all this running :)

3 things about April 15th

1-Taxes

2-Snow

3-Wicked

1-Taxes-they are due today. Lucky for us we filed way back in the first of the year and have spent a good majority of our refund already.

2-Snow-that is right, it snowed today. Regular blizzard here in Salt Lake City. Where is spring?

3-Wicked-I have been looking forward to this play since June 2008 when we bought our tickets. We dressed up and went to dinner (Sushi) and arrived in time to sit and get ready for the start of the play. We had excellent seats in the grand tier and I brought my binoculars so for me the play was 'up close and personal'. Stu took me to see Wicked 2 years ago in Denver and it was a delight to see it again. I remember the big parts but forgot all about the small details. We got all the original cast (for this production) except for Elphaba. We got her 'stand in'. At first I was bummed we did not get the original Elphaba for this production, but her stand in was FANTASTIC. She looked and sounded just like the original Elphaba played by Inda Menzel. The play was so great and I am so excited to hear from all those friends and family members that have not see it yet, to see if they loved it as much as I do.

Where did all the days go? We are in the 2nd week of April. Snaps, time flys when you are having fun.
Here is an update on our family:

1-Stu's TV broke after only having it a week. 4 days after we set it up a line appeared down the middle. 1/2 the TV was in HD and 1/2 was in regular. Stu called the company who sent out a guy to fix it. The guy had to take the TV to fix a panel and told Stu it will be about 2 weeks before he got it back. Stu was not a happy camper
2-NCAA--Michigan State made it to the finals, they lost to North Carolina, but I must say for someone (me) just randomly picking teams, I think I did pretty good. They almost won.
3-I am running a 1/2 marathon next Saturday if the weather does not do what I want it to do I will play the card of a spoiled brat and not run it. Every weekend it has been cold and rainy/snowy. YUCK
4-Things have pick up at work. I have finally gotten an office that is right next to my boss. I have a window (which is nice) and mustard and ketchup walls (bright yellow and one red wall). I will not complain because I do have my name on a name plate on my door. How official is that? Because I have been so busy with work and working out, my house has suffered. I know that none of you will be visiting my house anytime soon, but it is gross and I feel the need to tell you that I have not cleaned it in 2 weeks. Say it...GROSS
5-Stu has less than a month till he graduates! He could not be happier. He hopefully will have a job lines up and can start working right away.
6-We have passed out huge birthday sweep that starts in February and ends..today. Mom N, Mom R. Grandma, Grandpa, Leah, Dad R. Cannon & Karly. We can now start saving for my birthday next month!
7-My New Year's Resolutions are coming together. Catch up on scrapbooking (I am getting closer and should be caught up by the June/July time) and teaching aerobics at the gym. My dear friend Liz has been helping me each week to get ready to try out and she has told me I have till the beginning of May. I know she is not kidding either. YIKES that is scary.
8-We have one week from today that Stu and I will see "Wicked". Stu took me to see this play in Denver for my 29th birthday and we are excited to see it again. (I will post pictures)
