Seriously...I am doing this again??

Stu, Liz and I got into the 2009 St. George marathon in October. I can't believe I am doing this again..but I am. Stu decided to join us ladies for this 26.2 run which was nice of him considering he is doing a 200 mile bike race about a month before. My honey is going to be one hotty hot hot this summer with all the training he is doing.
The goal is to do better than I did last year. And the goal for last year was to do better than I did 4 years ago. So I guess I have a lot on the line. This will probably be my last marathon for awhile since later this year we will be starting our family.
Wish us luck...we are going to need it!

Graduation BBQ

To celebrate Stu's graduation he had a BBQ for his friends and family on Saturday. The day was great, warm and sunny. We were excited to share the day with everyone and I had been looking forward to this for some time. The BBQ turned out great. Thank you to all those that came and brought something to share. Without you the BBQ would not have been a success!

Race for the Cure

It is time again for Race for the Cure. I have been doing this race since 2004 and will continue the tradition till we find a cure and save the beautiful La La's.
Cannon joined Stu and I this year. The morning started out cold but we were in good spirit. A 5k (3.1 Miles) is nothing and we knew we could get done in about 30 min. We met up with Liz and her niece Cassy and found out the starting line was moved from previous years. We found this out about 4 min before the start of the race so by the time we made it to area of the starting line we were stuck behind the walkers. This meant we had to dodge in and out of strollers and kids onto the grass and sidewalks...it was a mess. But we finished in record time (I must admit 3 miles went by so fast I could have sworn we didn't run that many, but Stu assured me we did). Cannon, me and Stu as we waited for Liz to show up

Graduation Day

Stu graduated today from the Community College. He didn't want to walk but I made him do it. I wanted to see my honey all dressed up on a cap and gown, and boy did he look good!
The ceremony was a long: keynote speaker, student speakers, musical numbers and then the calling of the graduates-but it wasn't too bad. Overall the graduation ceremony was about 2 1/2 hours. Once Stu walked I made him (I make him do a lot of things huh?) leave the arena so we could get some pictures taken outside. My parents came out to see him graduate and they needed to leave so I wanted to get pictures of all of us. Stu being the rebel he is left before all the name were read (the college asked the students to not leave during the ceremony) so we could take pictures. The college had about 500 students walk and about 3500 graduate which is the highest graduating class to date.

We have a picture of Stu kissing me when I graduated so of course we needed one of me kissing him.

Nurse Pinning Ceremony

Stu started his graduation week with the nursing pinning ceremony tonight. This is just for the nursing students only so it is small and intimate. My family and Stu's family came to the ceremony. It consisted of faulty speakers, two student speakers and then the graduates went up to get their stuff. Their names were called and they walked across the stage. It was followed up with a video that had pictures of all the nursing students and would you believe it- Stu was in most of them...in the background looking dazed and confused. The ceremony concluded with the nursing plead that the student said as a whole and then of course...lots of pictures. Stu just loves pictures.

I put these sticky things on Stu's car and told him he had to drive around for at least a week with it on. You can see how happy he was about that.

*Side note. Stu had a older lady (40's) in his class that he was quite close to that did not pass one of the classes and will have to retake it next semster. She did come to the ceremony but didn't feel like she should walk since she did not pass the class. Stu told her that she needed to walk with them and if she came up on stage he said he would let her pinch his butt. He said "I know you wanted to all semester long..here is your chance". She was nervous about what I would say and Stu reassured her I didn't care. Needless to say, she was up there with them walking and Stu said she got a hand full of his cute bottom ;-)

Real Salt Lake

Stu is a big soccer fan. So when we got invited to the REAL soccer game against the LA Galaxy from our dear friends Josh and Andrea Johnson, he was not about to pass that up. Stu just finished his last final today, so a soccer game would be the best way to start the graduation party.
We met up with Josh and his new son Cohen at the Trax station before driving to dinner at a mom and pop restaurant called Indian House. Stu has never tried Indian food before so I was excited to have him try it. Of course..he loved it. Indian food is sooo good!

Cohen and Sarah at dinner. (Pretty good self portrait if I do say so myself)

After dinner we headed to the game. REAL Salt Lake moved from their temporary location at the U stadium to their very own stadium called The Rio Tinto stadium. Stu and I had not been there yet so we were excited to see the stadium and watch a game. The seats were great. REAL was ahead almost the whole game until some very bad calls from the officials gave a goal to the other team. The game was tied, REAL got another score then LA came back to tie it again and the game ended with a tie. Stu and Josh were NOT happy campers with this tie. My thought was "at least they didn't loose"
Overall we had a great time!

Viva Las Vegas

Liz turned 30 on May 2nd. She did not want to spend her 30th in Salt Lake so Leesha, Erin and myself with Liz jumped on a plane and headed down to sin city. We arrived at 9 AM on Friday checked in and headed straight to the pool for the girls to lay out. I myself put on my SPF 85 (yes they make it that high) and read a book while the sun beauties got their sun. After the pool and showering we headed out for some shopping. After some major credit card damage we headed out to dinner.

Saturday was Liz's birthday, we woke up ate breakfast and did some more shopping before heading out to dinner and dancing. We tried out this sushi place (KOI) that has gotten some great reviews and where stars eat. The sushi was good but not worth the price we paid. I can get just as good of sushi anywhere around here and a heck of a lot cheaper. We did some more shopping before we heading out to the club Toa (our name was on the list to get in for free) and we danced our hearts out till Liz almost got into a fight with a big black man. We decided we were done and headed on back to the hotel

Sunday Erin had to go back to Salt Lake so we took her to the airport and my sun beauties (Liz and Leesha) wanted to head back to the pool so we did for a bit. We ate dinner at a really yummy burger place where you can make your own burger and then we went to see "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" (you can pass on this movie) before we ended the night with some gelato!
Overall the birthday was great. I think (hope) that Liz has a great time and it was so much fun to hang out with Leesha and Erin again!
