Number 1

Stu, Coleman and I decided to run the Challenge Nation Scavenger Hunt today.  Stu and I ran it last year and had a blast.  You are given clues and you have to run around downtown SLC and do what the clue tell you to do.  Come back to the starting point and have your pictures look over and then you find out your placement.  Last year Stu and I came in 5th.  This year...we came in FIRST.  That's right!  FIRST PLACE.  I have NEVER won a race in my LIFE.  And with that 1st place finish came $300 and an automatic entry into the Championship race in Las Vegas. 

Here some pictures and the clues we had to do around downtown.  Keep in mind it was during conference weekend and most people dressed up, so you can imagine the scene it created downtown.


CLUE:  "Under the largest map of the Western Hemisphere in SLC (attached to its 2nd tallest building) you'll find a simple, round stone pedestal, that once you step on it, forms the perfect photo platform for your team to take a triumphant photo in front of SLC's best-know backdrop."

 CLUE: "Are you ready to test your coordination and friend-making skills?  Find ANY theater in SLC and act out a scene from any Oscar winning film or Tony winning play-but here's the catch-you have to it with another Challenge team! "
We acted out the movie- Titanic

CLUE: "This 'colorful' transit network officially launches on Monday with an initial 10 stations that you many have noticed popping up around downtown. Your mission is to find the specific station that's within 40 yards of where all SLC streets are measured from.  Gather round the one item docked there and snap a photo with the Temple in the background!"

AND here we are at the finish line!  NUMBER 1....NUMBER 1!!!

Overall we had a great day.  We actually were in second place but there was a team that got one of the clues wrong and had to go back.  They ended up coming in 3rd and got only $50 to split with about 6 on their team. 
 I guess I can cross this off my bucket list.  Coming in 1st in a race.  FINALLY...I didn't need a PR to come in #1, just some great team mates and an iPhone that gave us great directions!
